UCLA experts discuss important air and water safety concerns in the wake of the January 2025 wildfires in LA County, as well as climate change's role in this unprecedented disaster.
The panel features:
- Alex Hall, climate scienctist and director of UCLA’s Institute of the Environment and Sustainability (IoES). He is also director of UCLA’s Sustainable LA Grand Challenge (SLAGC) and founding director of its Climate and Wildfire Research Initiative (CWRI).
- Greg Pierce Water, quality expert Research and co-executive director of the UCLA Luskin Center for Innovation (LCI). He is also director of UCLA's Water Resources Group and the Human Right to Water Solutions Lab. He also serves as an adjunct associate professor for the UCLA Department of Urban Planning in the UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs.
- Yifang Zhu, air quality expert and associate director of the UCLA Institute of the Environment and Sustainability's Center for Clean Air. She also serves as a professor of Environmental Health Sciences at the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health.
