The UCLA Institute of the Environment and Sustainability has partnered with KLCS PBS to foster informed, sincere discussion about the environment and society. “Sustaining US” is a weekly half-hour program which will highlight topics on a variety of topics including climate change, green infrastructure, health care, homelessness, and transportation.
Various UCLA faculty, alumni, and students will act as experts on the show and will present solutions meant to spark passion and action, rather than simply promote a doomsday narrative. David Colgan, content producer on the series and director of communications at the UCLA Institute of the Environment and Sustainability, saw the show as an opportunity to share the wealth of sustainability knowledge and passion on UCLA’s campus with the rest of the world.
“I get to talk to brilliant people at UCLA, and many of them are great at breaking down issues in a conversational way,” he said. “I want viewers of ‘Sustaining US’ to have that same access.”
The show airs weekly on Wednesdays at 10 p.m., with reruns occurring the following Mondays at 5:30 p.m. Viewers can watch on the following Southern California channels or livestream on KLCS PBS. Further information about the show and its goals can be found at UCLA Newsroom.
