Park Williams leads research assessing megadrought extremity

Synopsis: Voice of America focuses on new research led by Williams. The study reveals the historic severity of the current megadrought which is the worst it has been for the Western U.S. in 1,200 years. 

UCLA News: Williams contemplates the short timeframe of extreme drought occurrences. “I was wondering if we’d ever see a year like 2002 again in my life and in fact, we saw it 20 years later, within the same drought.”
