The UCLA Sustainable LA Grand Challenge team is a resource for faculty across campus doing research that advances the goal and realizes the vision of the Grand Challenge. Our team offers a breadth of expertise, including:

Research and Proposal Development

We support the development of major disciplinary, multi-disciplinary and multi-investigator grant proposals to government, foundation and corporate donors that align with the goal and vision of the Sustainable LA Grand Challenge. We can contribute to everything from identifying funding opportunities, to managing a large proposal team, to providing strategic guidance and technical writing. Our goal is to help you create the most competitive proposal possible to win funding for your research that will help achieve urban sustainability. 

To date, we have assisted on more than 100 research proposals, helping to raise more than $60 million from external funding agencies for UCLA research and training programs.

Fundraising

Bring us your world-changing ideas. We partner with faculty members and UCLA Development to help generate support for research from individuals, foundations, corporations and government sources. 

 

 

 

Government Affairs 

We bridge the worlds of academia and policy by cultivating relationships, developing partnerships, advising on strategies and tracking legislation. We connect faculty members to elected officials, government agencies and constituent groups so that UCLA research and expertise can help inform innovative policy and technological solutions that have real-world applications.
