Synopsis: Research led by Turner shows 78% of the 50 largest cities in the U.S. include extreme heat as a problem in future urban planning. Yet few offered clear solutions.
UCLA News: In a study published in June in the journal Environmental Research Letters, scientists at UCLA examined urban heat plans from the 50 largest cities in the United States. “Without concrete steps to protect residents, cities are lagging behind the problem,” said Turner.
