Science Magazine featured UCLA Sustainable LA Grand Challenge Director Casandra Rauser in an article about the vital role research development professionals have in making cutting-edge scientific research happen. Rauser explained that translating between researchers in different fields and matching them up with each other is central to facilitating inter-disciplinary research. The article outlines the responsibilities and traits of an effective research development professional and the challenges of the job. Rauser shared that the demanding work schedule with her personal life has also taught her about balance and self-care.
