UCLA researchers work to protect North American salamanders

Researchers at the UCLA Institute of the Environment and Sustainability are calling for a federal ban on importing salamanders to prevent a pathogen from coming to the United States that could devastate salamander populations.

Richard Ambrose (Fielding School of Public Health, department of Environmental Health Sciences) is working to protect threatened North American salamanders, who play an unexpected role in climate.
