Stephanie Pincetl describes how L.A. would benefit from more locally appropriate landscaping

Synopsis: Pincetl described her vision of how the L.A. landscape would change if more people embraced the area’s Mediterranean climate. She recommends replacing currently unrealistic lushness dating back to white settler’s standards from wetter regions.

UCLA News: A more locally appropriate landscape would have more birds and insects, Pincetl said. There would be more flowering plants with different aromas, "kind of fragrant, pungent, sage-type smells". Overall, she described “a more diverse and interesting outdoor landscape.”
