LA’s New Car Share Program Offers Electric Vehicles to Low-Income Drivers | Sustainable LA Grand Challenge

Last Saturday, the City of Los Angeles, the California Air Resources Board (CARB), and the Shared-Use Mobility Center (SUMC) unveiled their collaborative effort to implement a first-of-its-kind carsharing pilot program focused on serving low-income L.A. residents. The program, which will introduce approximately 100 electric and hybrid carsharing vehicles and more than 100 charging stations in and around Central Los Angeles, aims to raise public awareness about electric vehicles while also expanding access to jobs and reducing air pollution and transportation costs.
