Lara Cushing discusses racial disparities in water contamination levels

Synopsis: CalMatters published an article discussing the announcement of California’s long-awaited standard for hexavalent chromium contamination levels in drinking water. 

UCLA News: Cushing highlighted the ways in which marginalized communities are affected by water contamination. “Latino communities and those with larger populations of other people of color are more likely to have drinking water with average levels of hexavalent chromium above 5 parts per billion.”
