Publication: SF Gate

UCLA Expert: Daniel Swain: Assistant Researcher, Institute of the Environment and Sustainability

Synopsis: SF Gate published an article regarding new snow in South Lake Tahoe. Swain shared some hope in the face of decreased snow water levels.

UCLA News: Swain discussed what the new snow in Lake Tahoe means for California. “California statewide snow water equivalent is now down to an absolutely abysmal 22% of average. However, a more favorable weather pattern (colder w/a couple of episodes of mountain snow) will stem loss temporarily & may even add a percentage point or three.”
