Sacramento Bee: Swain discussed his predictions for the California snowpack. “The recent rate of Sierra Nevada snowmelt is extraordinary. With the upcoming heatwave, it’s starting to seem possible that the vast majority of snowpack could be gone by mid-late April.”
USA Today: Swain warned of the more alarming consequences of the drought. “The recent evidence has been quite alarming. It really does look like we’re closing in on a place where a relatively modest amount of drying could kill off the rainforest and turn it into something else.”
