Synopsis: Climate scientists at UCLA say that climate change will increase the frequency of megastorms. While they used to occur every 100 to 200 years on average, rising temperatures mean we’ll now see them as often as every 50 years.
UCLA News: Swain who co-authored the research, says a megastorm could mean millions of people displaced by flooding, major transportation links severed, and damage totaling nearly $1 trillion.
