Brad Shaffer comments on California’s new Randall Wildlife Preserve

Synopsis: A new $65 million preserve is being created in California. Located between Los Angeles and the San Joaquin Valley, the Randall Preserve is intended to be both a haven for wildlife and a living laboratory for scientists. 

UCLA News: Biologist Brad Shaffer shares his excitement over the region and project with CalMatters. “It’s a crazy admixture of stuff that makes it very diverse and unique. From a biological point of view, that whole region has been known for a long time to harbor all of this very specialized diversity of salamanders and snakes.”
