Synopsis: A 2018 UCLA study found that L.A.’s train and bus ridership is declining in part because of increased car ownership.
UCLA News: Co-author Manville said that trend is probably more pronounced since the pandemic. Though there is no data available, it is likely many regular transit riders who were essential workers now have cars, Manville said.
